I live in East Dorset with my husband Dan and my 3 Jack Russells. I have always wanted to teach French to children. Having grown up in France and having gone through the French school system, I knew what kind of teacher I did NOT want to be.
I attended Marlboro College after which I decided to stay in VT. My mother's family is from Dorset VT so I had family in the area. I did a teaching internship at Bennigton College with the Regional Center for Languages and Culture. I learned innovative approaches to teaching languages and moreover, teaching languages to children. I worked in private schools for a few years, but have found the public system more rewarding. I feel that all children should have the opportunity to learn about different people and their languages. I hope that by broadening their horizons, I can promote their appreciation and understanding of other cultures.
