I am in my third year as Flood Brook’s primary level special educator. I previously spent 8 years tutoring special education students in various Windham county schools and two years as a classroom teacher. I live a half mile down the road at Taylor Farm with my husband and our three daughters, Annie (15), Mollie (11) and Leah (7). The
forty or so Holstein cows produce milk for our Gouda cheeses. In my spare time I love to garden or read.
Ms. Lori Nicol
I was born in Chicago, Illinois, did my undergraduate work at Augustana College in the Quad Cities, and my graduate work at the University of Denver. Following that I worked in rural Colorado for 3 years for a BOCES in the elementary, middle school and intensive needs programs in 3 different cities. My husband (my high school sweetheart) and I then moved to Stratford, CT where I worked as a public school speech and language pathologist for the Board of Education there for 17 years. This is our 6th year in Vermont, where we enjoy a slower pace of life with our twin 16-year old boys, our 17-year old (to whom we are guardians), 5 dogs, and a lot of laundry and dust! In addition to my work here at Flood Brook, I also have private clients and work for the Vermont State Family, Infant andToddler Program (FITP) as a Speech and
Language Interventionist for the 0-3 population.
