The legal voters of the Towns of Peru, Landgrove, Londonderry and Weston, being
of Flood Brook Union School District #20, are hereby notified and warned to
meet at their respective polling places in said Towns on Thursday, November 16,
2006, between the hours of ten o’clock (10:00 a.m.) in the forenoon, at which
time the polls will open, and seven o’clock (7:00 p.m.) in the afternoon, at
which time the polls will close, to vote by Australian ballot upon the
following Articles of business.
ARTICLE I
Shall general obligation bonds or notes of Flood Brook Union School District
No. 20 in an amount not to exceed Three Million One Hundred Ninety Seven
Thousand Six Hundred Dollars ($3,197,600.00), subject to reduction from and
contingent upon available state and/or federal construction grants-in-aid and
appropriations (estimated to be $696,000), be issued for the purpose of
financing the District’s share of the cost of making certain public
improvements, viz: installation of a new school building roof, wall insulation
and air circulating equipment, the estimated cost of such improvements being
Three Million One Hundred Ninety Seven Thousand Six Hundred Dollars
(3,197,600.00), the District’s bonded indebtedness for such purpose estimated
Two Million Five Hundred One Thousand Six Hundred Dollars ($2,501,600)
contingent upon an estimated net interest cost of no more than 5%.
ARTICLE II
Shall general obligation bonds or notes of Flood Brook Union School District
No. 20 in an amount not to exceed One Million Three Hundred Fifty Nine Thousand
Nine Hundred Dollars ($1,359,900.00), subject to reduction from and contingent
upon available state and/or federal construction grants-in-aid and
appropriations (estimated to be $1,206,000), be issued for the purpose of
financing the District’s share of the cost of making certain public
improvements, viz: installation of a wood chip heating system, the estimated
cost of such improvements being One Million Three Hundred Fifty Nine Thousand
Nine Hundred Dollars ($1,359,900.00), the District’s bonded indebtedness for
such purpose estimated One Hundred Fifty Three Thousand Nine Hundred Dollars
($153,900) contingent upon an estimated net interest cost of no more than 4.6%.
Upon closing of the polls, the ballot boxes will be sealed, re-opened
at the polling place in the Town of Londonderry, the ballots commingled and
publicly counted by representatives of the Boards of Civil Authority of the
Towns of Londonderry, Peru, Landgrove and Weston, under the supervision of the
Clerk of the Flood Brook Union School District #20.
The legal voters of the Flood Brook Union School District #20 are further
warned and notified that an informational meeting will be held at the Flood
Brook Union School in the Town of Londonderry on Thursday, November 9, 2006,
commencing at 7 o’clock in the evening, for the purpose of explaining the
subject proposed school building improvements and the financing thereof.
The legal voters of the Flood Brook Union School District #20 are
further notified that voter qualification, registration and absentee voting
relative to said special meeting shall be as provided in Sections 706u-706w of
Title 16, and Chapters 43, 51 and 55 of Title 17, Vermont Statutes Annotated.
Adopted and approved at a regular meeting of the Board of School
Directors of the Flood Brook Union School District #20 held on October 9,
2006. Received for record and recorded in the records of the Flood Brook Union
School District #20 on October 10, 2006.
